A Fine Time To Run

Derby 10K

We’re midway through April and things are hotting up, both on the race front and if the Met Office are correct, next week’s weather. In the meantime, stay calm and collected this weekend (14-15 April) with these 10K’s.

Everything’s looking fine and dandy for the Wright Hassall Leamington Spa Regency 10K in Warwickshire. Starting at 9am the route goes around Newbold Comyn golf course and Leamington town centre and is mainly flat apart from a couple of gentle inclines early on. Care is needed when heading off at the start due to bollards in between Newbold Terrace East and the grass verge.

Our next town centre 10K is in Derby and organised by Sporting Futures with Central Health sponsoring the event for the third year in a row. The race starts from Pride Park Stadium and passes various notable landmarks including the Guildhall and the Cathedral. There is a 3K Fun Run for children and a Business Team Challenge for energetic employees.

It’s time for a change of terrain and where better than the Grantham Cup 10K, a cross country race set in the scenic grounds of Belton House Estate in Lincolnshire. Last year’s event saw the highest number of canicross entrants so why not give man's best friend a run too.

Our final 10K is also held in a beautiful location, in this case the 65-acre grounds of Walton Hall in Warwickshire. The Shipston Home Nursing 10K is an off-road event open to both runners and walkers and dogs are welcome too. Entrants are invited to fundraise for this charity which provides palliative care to patients who wish to stay in their own home.
