Decisions, decisions with this weekend’s (10-11 March) races as in what distance to choose. Short and sweet, go with a 5K, prefer something longer then go with a 20-miler and use it as preparation for your spring marathon. It’s up to you to decide...
There are four options at the Milton Keynes Festival of Running this Sunday, all on a flat, traffic-free course around the town and starting from the Xscape leisure and activity centre. The four races are 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and 20 Miles and there are pacers in the latter two if you are aiming for a PB. Don’t forget to bring your race number and money for hot drinks and food. The question will be whether to have tea or coffee afterwards.
It’s over to Leicester for the Resolution Run 5K,10K and 15K on behalf of the Stroke Association. This is part of a nationwide series that is designed for all ages and abilities while raising money for a worthwhile cause. Run for fun or set yourself a target, either way the event takes place on Sunday at Braunstone Park and starts at 11am.
We end on Sunday with Retford Half Marathon and Family Fun Run in Nottinghamshire. This is one of two races from Retford AC, the other being the Power Surge 10K, and held on a mainly flat course consisting of roads and footpaths. The half marathon starts at 10am followed by the two-mile fun run at 10.15am: there are technical T-shirts for the half marathon finishers and medals for the fun runners with refreshments for all.
