The Birmingham Black Country Half Marathon, now in its 11th year has grown year on year. This unique chip timed, traffic free race, runs along the canal towpaths between Wolverhampton and Brindley Place, Birmingham.
A point to point race, sees competitors go off in a seeded time trial format, with runners being set off in small waves approximately 10 minutes apart.
The route is mostly flat, with locks and bridges as the only inclines, and includes the famous 'Coseley Tunnel'. A memorable 360 metre tunnel lit up with large ground torches on race day. There are floating drink stations located along the canal, approximately every three miles.
All finishers will receive a medal, and T-shirt. Many finishers end the day enjoying all the facilities around Brindley Place. The perfect finish to the perfect race.
This year's race will be run on Saturday 7 July.
