2018 will be the 30th year of this popular half marathon in the Forest of Dean. Now a completely traffic-free course through the heart of the Forest it has grown steadily and now attracts over 2500 entries.
Starting and finishing at the historic Speech House Hotel, the race uses a network of forestry trails and cycle paths to complete a clockwise route around the Forest: Dropping first into the Cannop Valley and then climbing steadily to the highest point (650 ft) at the half way mark, returning on a more undulating route to the Finish at the race village.
This year the race has been chosen by the TRA to host the 2018 UK Trail Running Championship - Short Course. This is an open competition and will be incorporated into the main half marathon event. See more details at the Trail Running Association website.
Forest of Dean Spring Trails Half Marathon will be run on Sunday 18 March, 2018
As well as producing a great event, the Rotary Club of Royal Forest of Dean and a great team of volunteers, raise tens of thousands of pounds for charities, both local and further afield.
The rotary club also holds an Autumn Half Marathon and 5k (Sunday 30 September 2018)
