The LCP DK10K has been part of the local road race calendar for over 30 years and a must do event for those looking to lay down a fast time just as the evenings are getting lighter.

Starting and finishing at Dudley Kingswinford Rugby Club, Wall Heath, the LCP DK10K has been the biggest midweek race of its kind with upwards of 1000 runners taking part every year. With a BARR Gold Standard certificate confirming an accurate course and with chip timing the event has become established as a premier race since its inauguration in 1986.

The LCP DK10K route takes runners on a tarmac course along picturesque country lanes, on mostly closed roads - to ensure competitor safety. Support will be at a premium around the route and expect an enthusiastic and vocal group of marshals who will guide runners on their way to the finish, particularly as the course takes runners past The Navigation, a country pub, where crowds are guaranteed!

The event boasts excellent facilities – on site parking, changing, showers, bar and food. There is always a convivial post race celebration with many runners making a night of it with family and friends. LCP DK10K sees runners return year on year.

There are a range of prizes in age categories and with a quality technical T-shirt for all finishers no one goes away empty handed. Results and photographs are available within 24 hours.

The course is testing with some undulating sections but the high quality field and the number of club standard competitors ensure that runners are pulled round to fast times. Previous winners include Ian Williams with a 10k PB of 30.32, European Championships representative Martin Williams (PB - 29.29) and Phil Nicholls, a former GB runner at the World Cross Country Championships (PB - 29.07). With competitors of this status the LCP DK10K is a race whose pedigree is assured.
