12 Weeks And Counting To Swansea Half Marathon

2017 Swansea Half Marathon
The clock is ticking with only 12 weeks to go to the JCP Swansea Half Marathon on Sunday 25 June.

Now in its fourth year and open to all ages and abilities, the Swansea Half Marathon hopes to capitalise on last year's success with a record number of entries in the 2017 race. It received a boost with a surge of entries on Mother's Day last Sunday (26 March) with the highest number ever of female entrants signing up.

The wheelchair friendly race is one of the top 10 half marathons in the UK, shortlisted in the 2017 Running Awards and growing in popularity every year. It is also Wales’ biggest summer half marathon. These are all good reasons to enter the half marathon with a fast, flat PB-potential course and stunning views providing an extra incentive along with a bespoke medal and technical T-shirt for all finishers.

The event is organised by Front Runner Events Ltd who host the Llanelli Half Marathon and the Great Welsh Marathon and Half Marathon – a closed road event that starts at 9am from the centre with runners passing the 12th century Swansea Castle and St Helen’s Rugby Ground, before reaching the stunning Swansea Bay. They then head towards Mumbles before turning to head back to the centre with a sprint finish over the Millennium Bridge.

Other features include race pacers, water every three miles, gels at miles six and nine miles, and live entertainment to keep energy levels and spirits high. The Swansea Half Marathon is supporting joint headline charity partners Cancer Research UK and the Alzheimer’s Society.

There’s still time to register for the JCP Swansea Half Marathon. Visit the event website for more details.
