This April’s Asda Foundation City of Lincoln 10K will be of added significance with the event set to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The East Miidlands race, organised for Sunday 17 April, became a recent addition to the popular Jane Tomlinson Run for All series, which also includes the Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon and Leeds 10K.
The 19th edition of the 10k saw more than 4000 runners make their way around a course that takes in some of Lincoln’s historic landmarks including the cathedral and the city’s Roman Walls. The route is referred to as being ‘truly fast and spectacular.’
With the 20th milestone approaching, organisers are anticipating an even higher turnout with accompanying 1.5k, 2.5k and 5k events available for youngsters, plus a team challenge 10k for friends who want to compete together.
Asda Foundation Manager Julie Ward said: “Happy anniversary to the City of Lincoln 10K! What a great milestone to reach. We hope that the 20th year will be a great celebration – and we look forward to thousands of people pulling on their trainers and supporting some very worthwhile causes.”
Entries for the race are now open. More information is available on the Run for All website.
