This Sunday (13 September) will see the Midlands host one of its top events, the Lichfield 10K. A field of over 1,000 competitors is expected to compete in the10k, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Runners will enjoy a beautiful out and back route through Lichfield.
As part of the celebrations, each participant will receive a commemorative 20th anniversary medal, free digital downloads of their race photos and a high-quality souvenir t-shirt. Those interested in taking part should be alerted to the fact entries close this Thursday (10 September). A family fun run will accompany the 10k.
Last year’s race saw Leicester Coritanian’s Chris Jordan prevail in a competitive field. Jordan took first place in 32:48, five seconds ahead of Hermitage Harriers’ Matt Adcock, with James Skelton third (32:59). In the women’s competition, Natasha Blunt secured top billing in 39:19, with Andrea Deathridge second (40:56) and Christina Cooper rounding off the top trio of female performers in 41:06.
Entries for the race are priced at £17 or £15 for affiliated runners. Those looking to take part in the family fun run can register on the day. More information is available here.
