Nottingham's Bark For Life dog event invites owners and their four-legged friends on a fundraising walk for Cancer Research UK. Sunday 21 May will see the fifth outing for this charity eventat Rushcliffe Country Park in Nottingham.
Entrants choose from a 5k or 10k distance with both walks starting and finishing in Kite Field in the centre of the park. These walks are suitable for all ages, pushchairs and wheelchair users. Owners pay £5 to register their dog before being given an information pack and sponsorship form in return. They are encouraged to raise funds for Cancer Research UK with every owner awarded a ‘thank you’ certificate for their efforts. Their dog will receive an exclusive Bark For Life bandana when they have been registered.
This event is open to dogs of all shapes and sizes who along with their owners, will benefit from a healthy walk in a picturesque location. For the more athletic canine, there is a dog agility course to test their speed and stamina.
There are a variety of attractions on offer to entertain man’s best friend including a Fun Dog Show by Yew Tree Canine Society, professional photography tent, a raffle and stalls selling items for dog lovers. In addition, games for dogs and a fancy dress contest with music and refreshments for their owners.
Registration opens at 10am followed by the walks at 11.30am.
