You’ll get more bangs for your buck this weekend (4–5 November) with our sparkling selection of races. From 5k to a Wolf Run, the heat is on across the Midlands.
We light the touch paper on Saturday and stand back for the Winter Wolf Run taking place tomorrow at Stanford Hall in Leicestershire. This is a gruelling 10k race involving woodlands, water and mud along with a range of natural and man-made obstacles along the way - one for the OCR lovers among you.
The display continues into Sunday with another type of race involving obstacles. The Three River Challenge in South Kyme, Lincolnshire is a 15 mile jaunt on roads and riverbanks plus a few stiles to scramble over that adds to the fun. There will be refreshments at the finish to soothe tired minds and bodies.
Cannock Chase is the setting for a 10k, one of a series of Tough 10s from Cancer Research UK. Runners tackle difficult courses and terrain in various locations across the UK while fundraising for this charity. The Cannock Chase Tough 10 starts at 10am.
In keeping with the theme, we finish with the Bonfire Burn 10K, a multi-terrain event in Cambridge that is popular with the local running community. It has a cosy, village atmosphere and is designed for people all ages and abilities who support the fundraising work of the organisers, Friends of Histon & Impington Recreation.
