The English Half Marathon Festival of Run set for 21 September has issued an invitation to charities to get involved with the event. The 2014 Festival has expanded to include a 10k road race and a family mile event and offers charities lots of opportunities to raise vital funds.
Charity Call At EHM Festival Of Run
Event director, Rob Griffiths, said: “Our races are very welcoming to runners of all abilities and we see charities as the bedrock of our event. The English Half has raised many hundreds of thousands of pounds over the last five years and we want that to continue.”
English Half Marathon and 10K runners will head towards the beautiful suburban areas of South Warrington where good support is expected from local communities and a number of musical points have been planned to provide runners with an extra boost. The course then returns to Victoria Park for a grandstand finish with live music from WireFM, a food festival and charity village.
Discounts for charity groups are available and there are opportunities to promote their causes within Victoria Park and along the route. Rob added: “We’ve worked hard to look at ways to make the event more accessible for charities. We’ve lowered prices, removed the obligation for a minimum number of runners and we give the charities the opportunity to showcase what they are good at – which is supporting the wider community.”
Charities already involved with the event include St. Rocco’s, JUMP, Home-Start Warrington, Peace Centre and Claire House Hospice. If your charity wants to get involved contact the EHM office on 01925 571764
