Organisers of the first ever Birmingham Color Run on Saturday 16 August have released a number of late entries due to high demand. Prospective runners can now enter the race until midnight on Sunday 10 August, with registration priced at £35.
Known as the 'Happiest 5K on the planet,' the Color Run will see each participant embark upon the 5k with a clean, crisp, white t-shirt before being splattered from head to toe in paint from all the colours of the rainbow.
The event at the NEC was originally launched in 2012 with 50 separate runs in the United States. After gaining attention across the Atlantic, the runs attracted 33,000 participants in the UK last year.
Runners at the Birmingham event will make their way around the course to sounds from Capital FM, with colour blasts organised for each km marker. The Color Run is sponsored rather fittingly by Dulux while Save the Children is the event's official charity partner.
