A record 1047 finishers celebrated St George's Day in warm, sunny conditions in West Wiltshire at the 34th outing of the sold-out event. The 10K and 2K Fun Run was organised by Corsham RC with all proceeds, after costs had been deducted, donated to local charities.
The runners followed a route through historic Corsham and along country lanes before climbing up to the top at 4k. They then went downhill at Westwells and to the water station at 5k before going along country lanes and heading downhill to the finish. There was a sting in the tail at 9k with a hill climb on Pound Pill followed by a finish at Corsham Town Football Club.
Handmade trophies from Bath Aqua Glass were given to the winners of the men’s and women’s races, as well as the U18, age category, and relay winners. Cash prizes were also awarded for the first, second and third men and women, with a T-shirt, bottle of beer and goody bag for all finishers.
