There are just over three weeks until the Ikano Bank Robin Hood Marathon Events Weekend (29-30 September). Places are still available so don't miss the chance to target a PB at this historic event.
The Ikano Bank Robin Hood Marathon Events weekend takes place on Saturday 29 to Sunday 30 September and is open to club, charity, fun and new runners. It is one of two mass participation races recently acquired by Goldline Events Ltd who aim to deliver a memorable running experience.
New for this year is the Mile Challenge on Saturday, a series of races for people of all ages and abilities held on the Victoria Embankment. This is also an ideal warm up for any runner who has entered Sunday's Half Marathon, Mini Marathon or Corporate Challenge.
There is a 2.5K Mini Marathon for children who can run or walk with their parents, teachers or friends, passing the River Trent before finishing in front of large, cheering crowds in the Race Village. This race includes the Schools Challenge complete with age category prizes.
The feature Half Marathon starts at 9.30am from the Victoria Embankment. A visually appealing route, taking in many famous landmarks including Wollaton Park and Nottingham Castle finishes on the recreation ground at the Embankment.
Entries close at midnight on Sunday 16 September. Race director Judith Manson advises: “The spectacular course is renowned for its huge spectator support. It’s one of the city’s most treasured events of the year and there’s still time to get involved.”
