Cracking Good Run At Easter 10K
This latest win for the in-form Rainsford comes a week after his first place finish at the Derby 10K. Notts AC rising star Lucy Holt won the women’s race in 37:10 and was eighth overall; an impressive display of running by the current Midlands U20 5000m, 10,000m and cross-country champion. Philippa Taylor of Nene Valley Harriers came second in 38:34, with Natasha Cuthbert of Barrow Runners taking third in 39:10. The last runner finished in 1:26:08.
A field of 611 completed the scenic route around Wollaton Park with all finishers receiving a commemorative mug. In keeping with the race's seasonal theme, those taking part in the 2K Fun Run received an Easter egg.
The annual event is organised by Run Nottingham at Notts AC and jointly sponsored by Longleys Accountants and White Post Farm. It is one of three races in their 2017 series along with a 10-mile road race and the Richard Belton 5K, and is held in addition to their Christmas Relays and Tim Wealthall Mile. The events are designed for runners of all abilities with profits donated to the sport with the aim of developing current and future generations of athletes.
