Double Act Take Centre Stage at Lichfield
In the women’s race, Allen was the fastest female in 36:51. Nichola Jackson of Ribble Valley Harriers was second in 38:21, followed by Tamsyn Rutter (38:43).
There were no mishaps this time for Martyn Jennings-Temple who finished in 44:04 and 104th overall. The Birchfield Harrier was delayed last Sunday (3 September) on his way to the Wilne 10K but made the start line in time thanks to the helpful marshals.
Birchfield Harriers also won the team prize with the fastest overall times. Kim Hill was the midpoint runner in 56:40 with the last runner crossing the line in 1:41:24.
The cathedral city played host to this perennial favourite and one of the biggest events in the area, which along with a Family Fun Run, were organised by Lichfield RC. Over 1000 runners tackled an undulating course on country lanes with plenty of support along the way. A team of pacers from the host club helped PB-hunters towards their prized goal and the weather stayed dry, making it perfect running conditions in which to do so.
