Coaching Assistance Available For National Clubs

England AthleticsEngland Athletics has announced the launch of a Club Run programme, an initiative that will support clubs across the country with a series of free coaching sessions. A member of the National Coach Mentoring Team or a coach will lead the sessions from the National Coach Development Programme.

Participating clubs will receive three sessions spanning a 9–12 week period and will be aimed to prepare members for a particular event or championship. The sessions will also be devised to support club’s coaches and leaders in developing their skills.

The underlying premise of Club Run is to assist more runners as part of the wider England Athletics programme, which seeks to provide support at each level of the sport.

Spencer Duval, National Coach Mentor Lead for Endurance commented: “I’m excited about what Club Run can offer the road running community through the involvement of the coach mentoring team.

“The feedback from the pilot projects we ran earlier in the year has been very positive with participating clubs gaining a lot from the experience of a visiting coach.”

Places for the programme have been limited to 30 clubs; deadline for applicants is Monday 29 June.
