Still time to enter new Salcey Forest Xmas 10K

New Salcey Forest Christmas 10K & 5K Medals

There are places remaining in the new Salcey Forest Christmas 10K & 5K taking place on Saturday 14 December. Take a break from Christmas shopping and wrapping presents and enter this festive race.

The beautiful surroundings of Salcey Forest in Northamptonshire are the location for this latest offering from Nice Work who has created an off-road race suitable for everyone whatever their age or ability. Choose between a 10K (two laps) and 5K (one lap) and enjoy flat trails and paths around this scenic woodland and its ancient oaks, some of which are more than 600 years old.

Salcey Forest is a popular area for outdoor pursuits with walking, cycling and horse riding trails. They are also used for running events and this coming Saturday will host a new addition where fancy dress is actively encouraged. The 5K starts at 9.50am followed by the 10K at 10.00am and both races are chip timed and fully marshalled – including a backmarker to ensure no-one is left behind. Medical cover is provided.

There are prizes for the top three men and women, age category awards and team prizes. There is a seasonal medal and mince pies for all finishers accompanied by a sense of satisfaction from completing a brand new race.

This is ideal preparation for an early season (2020) half marathon or marathon or as the last race in 2019 before a rest at Christmas.

Sign up at the Nice Work website. Online entries close at midnight Friday. (13 December)
