Online entries for the inaugural Bridges of The Tyne 5 Mile Road Race opened on Friday (February 17). The event, which is organised for Tuesday, July 10, is expected to sell out fast with a maximum field of 300 competitors.
Organised by Tyne Bridge Harriers, the race starts on the historic Newcastle Quayside and takes runners West on the riverside path, passing seven Bridges of the Tyne. The route heads eastwards to finish on the Quayside adjacent to the mouth of Ouseburn.
Entry fees have been set at £12.00 for club members and £14.00 for unattached runners. There will be prizes awarded for individual athletes in all categories. For more information, visit the Tyne Bridge Harriers website.
