Leicester becomes the latest addition to the Run For All 10K series with entries now open for a brand new charity road race in 2017.
The city will be hosting the Asda Foundation 10K on Sunday 3 September 2017, organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All. This not-for-profit organisation was set up in memory of the late Jane Tomlinson CBE who completed an ambitious set of challenges to fundraise for charity.
With a flat course that is suitable for beginners as well as experienced runners, taking in various landmarks including the Cathedral and the Guildhall. The race starts and finishes in the picturesque Abbey Park.
Profits from the event will go directly to the Jane Tomlinson Appeal who raise funds for children’s and cancer charities, and runners are encouraged to do the same for a charity of their own choice.
The organisers hope this 10K will provide a cash boost for local charities; a view shared by Julie Ward, senior manager of the Asda Foundation who said: “As well as a great opportunity to take on a new challenge, the event presents a way to raise money for some excellent local causes.”
Finishers will receive a bespoke medal, technical T-shirt and a goody bag as mementoes of their participation in the new race.
