Xtra Mile Events, organisers of the ASICS Oulton Park Half Marathon & 10K, have put prospective runners on red alert with news that entries for the 2016 races are now open with the third staging scheduled for Sunday 28 February.
The unique event, held entirely on the famous Oulton Park motor racing circuit in Cheshire, is seen as perfect training platforms for spring marathons, particularly the Greater Manchester Marathon in April, with many competitors testing their endurance levels by tackling both races.
The Oulton Park race track is one of the country's finest motor racing circuits and competitors enjoy a traffic free race track, super smooth tarmac and the finish straight on the pit line. Runners in the half marathon will cover six laps with 10K competitors tackling three.
Race director Simon Hill comments: “We are excited to confirm the date of the 3rd ASICS Oulton Park Half Marathon & 10K. This is the perfect event for runners to kick off their road running season and for anyone running the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon six weeks later.”
“The ASICS Oulton Park Half Marathon & 10K is a great event for spectators to come and soak up the atmosphere whilst cheering on family and friends. We are also pleased to welcome ASICS back as the title sponsor.”
5,000 places are available for 2016 with an entry deadline set at 21 February, or when sold out. More information is available here.
