Summer 2017 may not be looming on the horizon just yet but preparations for next year’s UKFast We Love Manchester 10K are already in motion with entries now open. Considering the event’s standing as one of the north west’s leading races and the high turnout rate in recent years, demand is expected to be high.
Scheduled for Sunday 9 July, the 10k, affectionately known as the People’s Race, will once again see competitors start at the regional athletics track before leading out to the Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City FC.
In addition to its reputation as one of the friendliest races on the circuit, the We Love Manchester 10K has strong PB potential too. This year’s event saw Mohammed Abu-Rezeq post a winning time of 30:33, 40 seconds ahead of Carl Hardman (31:13), with Tarus Elly third (32:19). Kristy Longley secured first in the female field in 37:22.
Graham Jackson, race director for Sports Tours International commented on the news: “We are delighted to return to one of the most iconic sports facilities in the North West for our UKFast We Love Manchester 10k. In 2016 we welcomed over 2,500 entrants to a glorious race day and we expect even more next July.”
Early bird entries for the race are priced at just £16. More information is available at the Sports Tours International website.
