Final Call For Oxford Vitality

Vitality Oxford Half MarathonRunners considering the upcoming Vitality Oxford Half Marathon should note the closing date of Monday 14 September. As with last year, organisers anticipated a sell-out field, 7,000 runners expected to toe the start line on Sunday 11 October.

The half marathon, now part of the Vitality series, offers an attractive picturesque route, which moves through the world famous University College grounds and along the Thames Path, before a grandstand finish in the Kassam Stadium. The course has been modified this year to provide a faster and flatter route for PB hunters.

Looking ahead to race day, Jamie Warren at GO2, said: "We often see a peak during the lead up to entries closing, as many people often have the date earmarked as a target to aim for. To avoid any disappointment, we would urge all those interested in the race to sign up ahead of the 14 September deadline, particularly as this year’s event has seen a phenomenal growth in interest with well over 6,500 sign ups, and every possibility of selling out before! Runners can still commit to charity spaces after this date, however we will be unable to accept any more standard or club entries.”

Jamie is expecting the half marathon’s stock to soar in the coming years: “We have extremely high expectations that the 2015 race is set to be one of the most memorable running events the city of Oxford has ever hosted. Over the next few years, we fully expect the event to become one of the top half marathons in the country.”

Entry is priced at £40, or £38 for affiliated runners. More information is available here
