There are only five days to go before entries close for the Ikano Bank Robin Hood Marathon on Sunday 21 September. Registration closes at midnight on Sunday 21 August.
This is the final week runners can enter the Half Marathon and Marathon with places going fast for this popular event. Entries have now closed for the 2.5K (1.5 mile) Mini Marathon.
The reasons for the flood of applications include the distinctive medals with a running stag image, a limited edition race T-shirt and an impressive route with notable landmarks. Examples of these include the oldest pub in Britain, Wollaton Hall, Raleigh Bike factories and Nottingham Castle to name but a few. These landmarks reference Nottingham’s historical past, present and future, and the organisers hope they will impress the thousands of runners due to take part.
Another new addition is the British Athletics Half Marathon Championships, incorporated within this event. This is a major coup for the organisers, chosen to host a prestigious competition that will give recreational runners the chance to participate alongside elite athletes.
More than 10,000 runners expected at this year's event who will receive wholehearted support from large crowds on their merry way around the course.
Entries still open for the Ikano Bank Robin Hood Marathon. Visit the website
