Pencil Sunday 2 June in your diary for one of the most intriguing events on the Cambridgeshire running calendar. Organised by charity The Friends of Histon & Impington Recreation and the village running club 'HI Runners' the Flaming June runs provide something a little different from the usual road based courses.
The 'Friends' give this event a real community feel and proudly boast that it's one of the friendliest runs in Cambridgeshire.
The event has a half marathon and quarter marathon option and is run over a unique rural and multi terrain course in the beautiful village of Histon. We asked previous entrants what they thought:
"It was a brilliant course, really well marshalled and everyone was really friendly. The event had a lovely community spirit about it. My children loved the BBQ stall too!"
"My daughter and her partner ran in the Flaming June event this morning and both commented on the amount of people lining the streets encouraging and supporting the runners, they said it spurred them on and they loved the atmosphere…both achieved PBs so it must have helped! Well done Histon and Impington!"
"I feel it was a privilege to have taken part."
