The GEAR 10K is under new management with Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All staging next year's race on Sunday 30 April in King’s Lynn, Norfolk.
The Grand East Anglia Run (GEAR) is the latest addition to Run For All’s 10K series. This not-for-profit organisation has entered into partnership with Alive Leisure and the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk. Their joint aim is to build upon the 10K’s current success, making it bigger and better than before.
GEAR is the 10th race added to the Asda Foundation 10K calendar. Also new for 2017 is the Bespak GEAR 10K Corporate Challenge with companies battling it out to become the fastest workplace. In addition, there is the popular Bespak Mini GEAR, a 1.2-mile fun run for families.
Locally born, former Leeds United, Manchester City and England footballer Danny Mills gave this venture his seal of approval. He said: “It’s really exciting news that the GEAR 10K will be added to Run For All’s successful series of events. Run For All’s events are always fantastic fun and are brilliant at encouraging people of all abilities to take part.”
The 2017 race will use the same route as this year’s event. Runners will follow a historical route around the market town of King’s Lynn, passing various landmarks such as The Walks, Greyfriars Tower, the Custom House and the Red Mount. There will be support and live entertainment along the way and all finishers will receive a bespoke medal, technical T-shirt and a goody bag.
Entries are now open for the 2017 Asda Foundation GEAR 10K. More details at the event website.
