Gilly Wight, manager at Up & Running's Leeds Central store, is planning a 200 mile run from Otley in West Yorkshire to Cambridge. Gilly will be fundraising for children's cancer support charity Candlelighters, a cause she has been involved with since she was 8-years-old.
Gilly will be running for 26-30 miles per day for seven days and will be accompanied my her dog Maximus on sections of the run. Gilly plans to reach the Up & Running store in Cambridge on Saturday 27 March and to take part in Cambridge Half Marathon the following day.
Gilly told runABC: "I've wanted to do something significant for Candlelighters for some time. I hit on the idea of the Otley-Cambridge challenge because I usually run in the Cambridge Half each year and decided that I'd alter my method of travelling south this year!"
