Heroes Wanted For Milton Keynes Marathon

Multiple Medals On Offer At The Milton Keynes Marathon

The organisers of Milton Keynes Marathon and Half Marathon are inviting runners to be heroes by completing two races in one weekend. Those who do will receive three medals including the highly prized MK Challenge medal.

Billed as one of the top 10 marathons in the UK, Milton Keynes Marathon is on course to break all records with nearly 6,000 runners signing up for the challenge and entries are filling up fast. This year’s event takes place on new, scenic routes with PB potential and suitable for novice and experienced runners alike. The marathon, half marathon, relay and fun run will be held on Monday 2 May with finishes inside the Championship football StadiumMK.

All finishers will receive a striking looking medal; in addition, there will be technical t-shirts and goody bags for all those who complete the half or full marathon.

New for 2016 is the Rocket 5K, a fast, downhill race on closed roads that runners will zoom along to finish at the StadiumMK, and presented with an aeronautical themed medal once they cross the line. This race takes place on the day before the showpiece event and may be a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Runners who complete the Rocket 5K and the marathon, half marathon, relay or fun run will get an extra bonus in the shape of the MK Challenge medal. This medal will feature an image of one of the famous Milton Keynes Concrete Cows with the runner’s achievement clearly displayed on the ribbon.

Also included is BMI The Saxon Clinic Marathon Relay, open to clubs, businesses, gyms and charities with a cash prize for the fastest team who beat the course record of 2:49:50. Plus the Superheroes Fun Run aimed at families with a mandatory costume requirement and trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
