Jurassic Coast Awaits Marathon Trainers

Martin and Liz YellingThe Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site in Devon has been waiting 185 million years to welcome 21st century marathon runners just like you. This inspirational location will provide the spectacular backdrop to the UKRunChat Running Weekend with Martin and Liz Yelling from 24–26 February, 2017.

Liz Yelling first hit the domestic headlines when she won the National Cross Country Championships in 2001 but she had been an international since competing in the World Cross Country Championships in 1998. 11 years later she signed off a remarkable GB career with a second Olympic Games marathon in Beijing 2008 but is probably best known for her bronze medal in the 2006 Commonwealth marathon in Melbourne.

Martin Yelling is also no slouch with a personal best half marathon of 69:34 (six seconds slower than his wife) and 10k best of 29:51 in a competitive record that spans more than 20 years. These days both are regulars at their local parkrun and are respected coaches and journalists.

The UKRunChat Running weekend will utilise the excellent facilities of Harrow House, Swanage and will feature group training sessions suitable for all abilities; yoga/pilates for runners; coaching and workshops with Liz and Martin Yelling; trail runs (various distances) on the Isle of Purbeck and Jurassic Coast - perfect for spring marathoners - and most importantly, lots of fun with friends.

Included in the weekend are two nights accommodation (on a shared basis) with breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast/lunch on Sunday. There is a swimming pool on site and you can take a virtual look at the venue here.
