Saturday (11 March) sees the opening of a new Up and Running in Colmore Row, Birmingham with a selection of goodies on offer to store visitors. The new store opens at 9am today (Thursday 9 March) where gift bags worth £50 will be given away to anyone who spends over £50 (subject to stock availability). This offer continues at the launch party on Saturday although it is a limited offer so runners are advised to get there early.
The grand opening takes place at the newly renovated Grand Hotel, 29 Colmore Row and includes two, 5k runs at 11.30am and 1.30pm on Saturday, led by a qualified run leader from GPS brand TomTom. These social runs are suitable for all abilities and do not require any pre-registration - just turn up and be ready to run at these set times. In addition, there is the opportunity to trial a TomTom GPS watch during these runs with a 20% discount for on the day purchases.
TomTom will also give a talk at 12.30pm about the benefits of training with GPS watches and heart rate monitors.
There will be a ‘tasting station’ by sports nutrition brand Torq where runners can sample a variety of energy gels with nostalgic flavours before making that all-important decision.
