It was a smooth display of running by talented young athlete Lauren Charlton at Sunday’s (5 May) Uttoxeter Festival of Running. She made short work of a tough half marathon course and in the words of one spectator 'glided by'!
The Newcastle (Staffs) AC runner faced stiff competition in the Half Marathon with many entrants battling for those all-important points as part of the North Staffs Road Runners Association (NSRRA) programme of races. The Uttoxeter Half Marathon was the sixth race in the series.

The event was organised by Uttoxeter RR and included a 10K and 2K Junior Race as well as the Half Marathon.
Lauren Charlton was first past the post in the women’s race in 1:28:25, over three minutes ahead of teammate Michelle Buckle who was second in 1:31:29. Jenny Laing of South Derbyshire RR was third in 1:31:36.
