With Liverpool's longest established running event starting on a UNESCO World Heritage Site you can't be anything but impressed with the backdrop to this fantastic half marathon.
Sitting in front of the 'three graces' - the Liver Building, Cunard Building and Port of Liverpool Building, the half marathon bears witness to the historical past of this famous seaport. And yet just across the way from this majestic start and finish area is a clear indication of the dynamic, new Liverpool which has become a favourite visitor destination for people across the world.
The stunning Liverpool ONE shopping area is just one of the major new attractions along with the Museum Of Liverpool, the Royal Albert Dock and the M and S Bank Arena. And all are just yards away from the start and finish line!
Runners follow a course around many of these famous landmarks which also takes in the city's oldest park and a final four mile run along the promenade overlooking the River Mersey.
With a flat course - apart from one short hill at 1 mile - what's not to like about Liverpool's longest established half marathon?
