Sunday 7 April sees the return of Loughborough Half Marathon and team relay. The 13.1mile course has been described as one of the toughest in the East Midlands. Available places are hotly contested, with only 800 available this year.
Organised by Loughborough-based charity Living Without Abuse, all money raised from the event goes towards the charity’s vital and much-needed work of supporting men, women and children who have had their lives shattered by domestic abuse.
Living Without Abuse’s event organiser Gina King said: “This is the third and possibly last year the half marathon will use this route and we are hoping for an excellent turnout. We only have 800 places this year. The run is all on pavements, footpaths and pathways and is tough but it's a fantastic course through some beautiful countryside.”
Registration is now open and the entry fee for the half marathon is £26 (£24 affiliated). There is also a Team Relay Challenge - four people per team (total entry fee of £70).
The event is co-sponsored by Duncan & Toplis Loughborough, A Plan Insurance Loughborough and the charity’s new sponsor Arch Communications.
