There surely can’t be many better Christmas presents than setting a PB towards the end of the training year. This Sunday (14 December), runners in Milton Keynes will be given such an opportunity at the second ever Winter Half Marathon.
With a 66m climb throughout the duration of the course, the Up and Running Milton Keynes Half Marathon is predominantly flat. The anti-clockwise route moves around the city, along the Grand Union Canal and a return via the linear parks.
Last year’s race saw Mark Ryall take first place in a time of 1:12:58, with Edward Coy in second position (1:14:59) and Newbury AC’s Mark Vardy third (1:15:57). First in the female field was Huncote Harriers’ Mel Evans in 1:24:21, with Annie Emmerson second (1:28:31) and Carole Penlington third (1:29:16).
Entries for this year’s event are now closed as the race has reached full capacity. Look out for our report of the Up and Running Milton Keynes Half Marathon report on Monday morning.
