There is a festival feel to the MK Marathon Weekend (5-6 May) with run, fun and fitness for everyone. Thousands of runners will take part for the coveted cow medals.
Sign up, turn up, run or rave at the Rightmove MK Marathon Weekend in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. With two days of activities, live music and free entertainment there is something to suit all tastes and the weather is looking good.
The aptly named MK Rocket 5K – it's a superfast course – is on Sunday (5 May) starting at 9am and ideal for any runner wanting a fast, flat race and a strong chance of a PB. The other four races are held on Bank Holiday Monday (6 May) and include MK Marathon, MK Half Marathon, Marathon Relay (open to teams of four) and the Superhero Fun Run. All races start from Saxon Street and finish in Stadium MK, the home of Milton Keynes Dons Football Club.
One of the biggest events in the area, the Marathon Weekend begins with the Mini Expo on Thursday (today 2 May) and Friday at Up & Running. It continues with the 5K on Sunday followed by the four races on Monday and there will be plenty of support from spectators throughout.
There is a stellar line up of live acts at the Race Village Family Festival along with face painting, food and drink. Relax and listen (or dance!) along to Junior Jungle, Lioness, Drum Machine and others on the Main Stage outside the Stadium.
MK race director Andy Hully is running the Rocket 5K for the first time along with his son and daughter.
