Two-time double Olympic and world champion Mo Farah will join an illustrious line-up at the Muller Indoor Grand Prix Birmingham on Saturday 18 February 2017.
The prestigious event will be held at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham seeing a return to the West Midlands after last year’s staging in Glasgow. The Grand Prix regularly attracts a quality field and this year, athletic stars such as Greg Rutherford, Dafne Schippers and Laura Muir competed for top honours.
Farah last appeared in the Grand Prix Birmingham in 2015 where he broke the indoor world record over two miles and hopes to repeat that success in 2017. He confirmed that, saying: “The Muller Indoor Grand Prix in Birmingham is always a great event to be part of, and I’m looking forward to returning to a city where I’ve had so much success over the years.”
The Grand Prix is one of several, high-profile events in the UK next year. In London, British athletes will be competing at the World ParaAthletics Championships in July and the IAAF World Championships in August. Closer to home, in Birmingham there are the Masters Outdoor Championships, the World Championship Trials & British Championships and the English Schools Championships.
Not forgetting the inaugural Birmingham International Marathon on Sunday 15 October, taking place alongside the Great Birmingham Run Half Marathon held on the same day.
