Trentham RC’s Simon Myatt continued his winning ways at Sunday’s (15 October) Sub-4 Werrington 10K. He was also first man home for the North Staffs Road Runners Association (NSRRA).

Simon Myatt won the Werrington 10K in 34:16 and 11 seconds ahead of rival Carl Moulton of Boalloy who was second in 34:27. James Condlyffe of City of Stoke AC was third in 36:02.
It has been a close contest between Myatt and Moulton this season with the former claiming victory at the Leek and Congleton Half Marathon's whilst the latter took second and third places respectively. Conversely, the Boalloy runner has notched up a series of victories at the Westbridge 5, Clayton 10K and Uttoxeter Half Marathon with Simon Myatt in the runner-up spot. The competition between these two continues.
Kristina Defries of Stone Master Marathoners (Stone MM) was also on top form to win the women’s race in 38:40. This follows first-place finishes at the St Thomas 7, Ipstones 5 and Trentham 10K and with only one more race in the series she is on course to be the ladies champion. Michelle Buckle of Newcastle AC came second in 42:26 with Fiona Bradley of Stone MM third in 44:24.
Dave Adams was the midpoint runner in 49:40 with the last runner finishing in 1:37:19.
The Werrington 10K was organised by Trentham RC in partnership with Gold Events and was held at Moorside High School in Werrington, Staffordshire. The race is part of the Trentham Triple Series along with the Dave Clark 5 and Trentham 10K and popular with the local running community.
