New parkrun In South Derbyshire

parkrunDerbyshire will see its third free Saturday morning 5k when parkrun comes to Rosliston Forestry Centre on 12 March. The new event will follow in the footsteps of Darley which launched in 2013 and Long Eaton. Long Eaton was introduced in June last year and has grown quickly to a weekly attendance of 350-400.

Rosliston parkrun will enjoy a scenic location in forest land close to Swadlincote and Burton and the social dimension will be catered for at the Hub Cafe near the main buildings at the Forestry Centre. You can see the route for the new event at the Fetcheveryone website.

Rosliston Forestry Centre and South Derbyshire District Council are involved in making the event work however parkrun's Kevin Bowen says: "Our events rely on volunteers who find the work extremely rewarding. They are essentially helping people to improve their fitness while having fun at the same time." Go to the Rosliston parkrun website to find out how to get involved.
