Get next year’s race season off to a flying start at the Kidsgrove 10K on Sunday January 12, 2020. With separate races for men and women it is ideal for couples who run as well as individuals and a good test of winter fitness levels.
Its ‘welcome back’ to the Kidsgrove 10K, one of several races organised by Mick Hall who is keen to promote running events in Staffordshire that are value for money and held in scenic locations.
The Kidsgrove location and course remains the same; what is different for 2020 is splitting the event into men’s and women’s races. Male and transgender start at 10am followed by female at 11.20am and there are two teams of pacers - courtesy of PB Pacing - in both races.
The course is undulating yet fast so a PB is possible especially with help from the teams of pacers. The race starts from Clough Hall Park and heads on road to Bathpool Park and the reservoir before turning back up Boathorse Road with another lap at Clough Hall Park followed by a sprint for the finish by the tennis courts and bowling green.
There are prizes for the top three, all age categories and the first team: bespoke medal for every finisher and cake. This event is supported by the Running Bear store who will be in attendance on the day along with Big Bobble Hats.
