It will be thirsty work at the new Wild Wine Run Series, the first of its kind in the UK. Run 10K or 5K through a vineyard followed by free wine tasting.
Enjoy the great British countryside and award-winning English wines at this running event with a difference. The Wild Wine Run Series is organised by Richard Bruschi and Stephanie King who are both keen athletes and like nothing better than to get outside and run or walk in the company of like minded people. Nature + people + exercise + wine are likely to be a winning combination!
There are three runs in the series: the first is the Loughborough 5K & 10K Spring on Sunday 19 May; the second is the Victoria Park 5K on Sunday 23 June and the third is back at Loughborough for the 5K & 10K Autumn on Sunday 15 September. All three start at 11am.
Entrants can be competitive and race through the vines or walk (or crawl) some or the entire route. The decision is entirely theirs. There are two wine/water stations on the 10K route and one on the 5K, both off-road in attractive locations.
There are prizes for the winners and medals for the finishers who can relax via the complimentary wine tasting.
Wild Wine Run has partnered with charity When You Wish Upon A Star to help fundraise for children with life-threatening conditions. Every person who donates is automatically entered into their raffle draw and the proceeds will sponsor activities for these children.
