Route Unveiled For Sheffield 10K

Route Revealed Sheffield 10KLast month’s news that Sheffield will host a new 10k created huge interest in the city and beyond, and organisers have further stepped up the momentum by revealing the route for the race. Those competing on Sunday 30 October can expect a prime city centre start and exhilarating finish.

The 10k will begin in Arundel Gate in the heart of the city and take runners on a journey along Charter Row and Ecclesall Road, before skirting the edges of pretty Endcliffe Park. Participants will then continue along Riverdale Road, past Endcliffe Vale Road, close to the Botanical Gardens, then travel down Brocco Bank and back to what is set to be a thrillng centre finish.

Fronted by the Run For All team, the Asda Foundation Sheffield 10K will become the latest addition to the popular Asda Foundation 10K series, which includes events in Leeds, York, Lincoln, Burnley, Nottingham, Hull, and the most recently launched, Bury. Sheffield will be the final race in the 2016 series.

Charlie Tatman, Run For All event manager, said: “We’re very excited to be able to announce the route of this much-anticipated new event. It’s a fantastic new challenge for the city and the region, with a fantastic city centre start and finish. We already know from the half marathon, just how amazing the support in Sheffield is. Now people have the chance to be able to experience that at the Sheffield 10K on Sunday 30 October.”
