Runners will have the chance to sample the magic of Disney this autumn with events in both France and the USA. The inaugural Disneyland Paris Half Marathon Val d’Europe will be held on 25 September, and on 4 September California plays host to Disneyland Half Marathon.
Up to 12,000 runners are expected to line up in Paris for the run through Disney Parks and its surrounding areas. Participants will begin running down Hollywood Boulevard, and past the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror before going through Main Street, USA – though they’ll still technically be in France.
In the actual USA, runners will have the chance to run through Disneyland Park in the Californian city of Anaheim. The park is in the heart of Anaheim with Universal Studios, Knott’s Berry Farm, Discovery Science Center, Angel Stadium, Crystal Cathedral and the Richard Nixon Library all close by.
Entrants at both events are encouraged to get into the spirit of things by dressing up as a Disney character. Costumes must be family friendly and appropriate for running in.
For UK runners who fancy making the trip to either event, Sports Tours International is offering various travel packages. For more information visit the Sports Tours International website.
