Still time to sign up for spooky Worksop Half Marathon

Worksop Halloween Half Marathon runner in fancy dress

Places are filling quickly for the Worksop Halloween Half Marathon and Fun Run, held in scenic Clumber Park. Enter now to avoid missing out on a hauntingly good race on Sunday 28 October.

Organised by Worksop Harriers & AC and voted in the Top 10 Best UK Half Marathons, this event has grown in popularity since its launch in 1982. It always takes place on the last Sunday in October and this year sees the inclusion of the Nottinghamshire County Championships, giving an extra reason to enter.

Fancy dress is an important aspect of this Halloween themed event too and it’s not just for children. Adults can enter into the spirit of the occasion by running as a ghost, witch, skeleton or pumpkin and inject a sense of fun while they chip away at the miles. There is a lively atmosphere throughout and enthusiastic support from spectators through Sherwood Forest and Clumber Park.

There is an extensive prize list across all age categories. This includes a pair of HOKA One One shoes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female as well as cash prizes. There are cash prizes from 4th to 10th place – male and female and Savoy Cinema tickets for the first local runner. Trophies are awarded to the winning men’s and women’s County Team. All finishers in the Half Marathon will receive a long-sleeved technical T-shirt, medal and goody bag.

Note: closing date for Half Marathon entries is 11pm on 21 October or when the 3,000 entry limit has been reached.
