A Birmingham soldier has embarked on an incredible marathon challenge. Ben Kasper, 28 from Brierley Hill, Birmingham is running multiple marathons throughout 2016 across the UK and Europe. He is aiming to raise £2,500 for Debra, a charity providing support to those affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).

Ben’s race diary of 20 10ks, 15 half marathons, 15 full marathons and 5 ultramarathons is a feat of extreme endurance. He only started running back in October 2015 but has a good level of fitness from his four years in the British Army.

Next on Ben’s list is London Marathon in April followed by Barcelona and Edinburgh Marathons in May. Edinburgh Marathon is part of the city's Festival of Running, held on the 28/29 May. Organised by GSi Events, this festival weekend includes two junior races, a 5k, a 10k, half marathon and a team relay marathon.

Debra is a UK charity that divides its work between funding research and helping sufferers of EB, the debilitating skin condition with no known cure, to improve their quality of life.
