Staggeringly Good At Stourbridge

Action from the Stourbridge Stagger

There was a foggy start for the 2017 Stourbridge Stagger 10 Miles and Ladies Only 7K on Sunday (5 February).

The Stourbridge Stagger is one of two races hosted by Stourbridge Running Club, the other being their summer Stumble 10K, staged on parts of the same course.
The 7K Ladies Only race started at the same time as the main Stagger event (10.30am) from Mary Stevens Park, Stourbridge with 401 entrants in the main race and 99 in the Ladies 7K, making it 500 in total who tackled these hilly, multi-terrain events.
Christopher Ashford of Birmingham Running & Triathlon (BRAT) won the Stagger in 58:59. Karl Welborn of Tipton Harriers followed him in 59:47 with Connor Carson of Kenilworth Runners coming third in 1:00:43.
There was another win for BRAT with Daisy Wilson winning the women’s race in 1:13:30. Aimee Palace of Cobra RC was second in 1:14:22 with Monica Baptista of Bournville Harriers coming third in 1:16:00.
The last runner finished in 2:13:39.
In the Ladies Only 7K, Louise McHale was first across the line in 28:09. Lydia Silk of Wolverhampton & Bilston AC was runner up in 30:10 with Megan Parker of Halesowen AC taking third place in 31:46.
The last runner crossed the line in 1:03:07.
Stourbridge Running Club thanked everyone who helped to organise this successful event. Their next race, the Stumble 10K takes place on Saturday evening in August. Check the website for details.
