Ouse Valley Way Marathon
The Ouse Valley Way is a long distance path from Milton Keynes to Kings Lynn, following the River Great Ouse. Within the old county of Huntingdonshire it is 26 miles long, pefect for a trail marathon. The route is nearly all off road - just a section on road through St Ives and again through St Neots. Most of the route is along scenic paths, which take you through nature reserves, pastureland and woods. Some paths are tarmac or gravel, most are grassy (and if the rain has been heavy, could be muddy). As befitting a route near the Fens, it is flat - the total elevation gain is 264 feet.
